Civex is a startup digital platform where people meet, discuss, take action, and have an impact with corporations on issues that matter.  We make it easy for people to learn about issues they care about. Our community is where people engage in discussion with others and feel inspired to take action by using their sentiment and proxy vote to influence corporate decisions on what matters to them.  Civex is an early-stage pre-Series A startup in which you would be one of the first employees. 


The Role: Editor, writer, facilitator, curator, tone setter, and community builder

Civex is a revolutionary fintech startup building out its team. We are hiring a Community Builder and Editor-In-Chief to manage our content engine. Content is a critical, central component to our business strategy. The successful candidate will be passion-driven on impact issues and have 3-5 years’ experience as a community builder and/or journalist with an impressive portfolio of work. Key responsibilities include curating and overseeing the content strategy; setting editorial tone and focus; idea generation; and community building by creating engagement among Civex members. The Community Builder and Editor-In-Chief will oversee the content both internally and externally generated, and liaison with our partner influencers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

  • Community Building and/or Journalistic roots with 3-5 years experience.
  • Desire to oversee a content engine to drive community building.
  • Oversee the development and execution of our content policy and tone.
  • A focus on creating and overseeing the content strategy and editorial calendar to drive community engagement and growth.
  • Ability to curate and manage the content from three areas:
    • In-house staff writer(s)
    • External Journalist Community (freelancers)
    • Our Partner Advocate/Influencers
  • Well-versed in social media.
  • Great understanding of SEO.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the content engine.
  • Will assist in hiring and developing of staff writer(s).
  • Hungry and passionate to effect change and provide people with the content so they are moved to use their voice.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance, proxies, and social impact issues is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use metrics to make data driven decisions.
  • Optimistic, can-do attitude to educate, inform, and engage users.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willingness to learn.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
